Why do you use it?

Prototyping is all about making your ideas tangible so you can communicate how the final product will look and feel. These templates, in the shape of smartphones, help you to visualise what your digital solution will look like when your user is holding it in their hand.

When to use it:

Use this canvas when the idea you're prototyping is something digital; something that will be delivered as an app or a website.

How to use it:

Start by thinking about some of the key moments in the user experience of your digital solution. What are the most important screens or interactions to prototype?

Once you've chosen your key moments, use the smartphone-shaped templates to sketch what those interactions would look like on mobile. You can use the grid behind the templates to line things up and keep your sketches looking as realistic as possible.

Sometimes it can be helpful to use the space around the templates to label any important aspects of your solution, or to make notes about how the finished product would function.
